In Which Is Posted Actual News Which May Be Of Interest To Someone

So yeah, hey, how about that January huh.

I'm not about to rehash a whole year of stuff but here's the highlights: I am getting better, physically and mentally, more the latter than the former, because we know what's wrong with the brain and I'm on the right meds for it that are helping immensely, but we still have not figured out what the heck is wrong with me physically. We've ruled out things like diabetes and my food issues are not actual allergies but "sensitivities" (as in, they don't kill me, they just make me miserable) and my neurological tests came back inconclusive so now we're going to other specialists. But at least things are moving in the right direction. To use a very apt joke, I'm now less miserable :-)

I no longer have the PauC website in any form, this blog right now is pretty much it. Also it means I don't have the PauC twitter feed as it was attached to the email for the website and, yeah, we know how that goes. But. I am either going to rework this site or get a second site to post the PauC materials, the gallery, the media checklist, the goofy oddities, and so on. This will happen this month.

Also, I have the opening section of Inferno completed. I want to start posting in sections like I did before with Honor. It's a way to generate income and save early readers money in the long run. This is how it works:

When I publish on Smashwords I can set the price to whatever I want to set it to. So I'm initially posting the first section (if not a little more than that) and setting the price to $1.99. Further sections will be added as they are completing, which necessitates the reader re-downloading the book to get the newer version. But, and here's the best part, if you've already paid, you are not charged more for the updates. You've paid $1.99 for the whole thing, you just get it in installments. Someone who waits till the whole thing is done will pay the full price (if it's anything like Honor was when I finished it'll be about $4.99) so the earlier you go, the better deal you get. Also even though it's less money than it would be if it were all done, I would see the royalties sooner, and as things are with me right now, I have to see to the short term before I can set up for the long term.

Also, heh, direct your attention to the left side of the page. Donations to the Bishop's Fund for keeping the Author caffienated are always welcome.

Also also, I have some other book news coming up which I'll be announcing later, about another series. I do write other things besides "Brick II: Gaslamp Boogaloo" ;-D

I have a fantasy trilogy I've been wanting to put out for years but I've been waffling between print and graphic versions. I'm finally going to go with print, and I really like the installment way of releasing things, so... yeah. I don't think I'm biting off more than I can chew because this book is already written, I just need to polish it a little and format it for serial publishing.

Excited? I am. If you didn't know already, I celebrated my fiftieth birthday in January. And on that birthday I told myself to stop being afraid of doing things. I used to be Rabbit, then Eeyore, but then I became Piglet. This is not the book I want to be in. Unless I can be a Heffalump. That might be kinda cool.

So anyway, sorry for being away for so long. It's taken me this long to get back into wanting to do anything (if you have depression or know someone who does, you know) and now I'm going DO ALL THE THINGS and trying not to freeze up figuring out what to do first.

More information will be posted by the anniversary, by which is meant Marius and Cosette's, which is of course in 2 weeks.

Let me leave you with a picture that made my day. There are people who started reading this series when it started who have KIDS who are reading it. That's how long I've been doing this. I never meant to have it go this long or involve so much of my life in the writing. I'm glad I can entertain, if even for a page or two.

The books love you back, all of you. And so do I.

Thank you for reading.
